As March is the month of my spawning upon the earth I have been allowed to choose this month’s book. The King In Yellow by Robert W. Chambers is a classic collection of short stories which inspired H.P. Lovecraft and many others. First published in 1895 the title of the book is taken from fictional play with the same name which occurs as a motif through several of the stories. The King in Yellow causes anyone who reads it to be driven to despair and madness.
Join us and explore tales of beauty, decay and the macabre from a darker more decadent era.
Discuss the book here at The Mortuary, the official meeting place for the Dreadful Tales Book Club.
Now in the public domain It is available free from Amazon and Project Gutenberg.
