Last year, author Neil Gaiman came up with what we (being scary book-lovers both by nature and by trade) thought was a seriously badass idea. All Hallow’s Read is a new book-giving tradition! In the week of Halloween, give someone a scary book as a gift. That’s all there is to it.
Simple. Beautiful. Brilliant.
You can read all about All Hallow’s Read here. It’s a really awesome concept and we’re excited to participate again this year! There’s nothing quite like traumatizing your friends (and enemies) with an incredible terrifying tale.
Aside from gifting our friends and neighbors with books this Halloween season, we decided to support All Hallows Read – and help out our beloved fans – by providing book suggestions all month long. Want to know what kind of scary book you should give your mom? Your kindergartener? Your arch-nemesis? We have ideas for everybody, and we’ll be posting a suggestion or two every day this month (alongside our regularly scheduled content!). We hope they’ll inspire you to snag a creepy book for someone this season and share your love of scary literature with someone you care about!
Come on back tomorrow when the madness begins!
Cool idea. Maybe I should hand over my copy of October Country to someone random. Who doesn’t love a little Bradbury now and again?
Who doesn’t love a little Ray Bradbury? Crazy people, that’s who! I’m excited to attack people with scary books this year. Let us know how it goes if you decide to pass October Country on to someone!
