Dreadful Tales Weekend Roundup

The days are getting shorter and the weather is getting cooler- Fall is here and the Dreadful Staff has some big things planned for the next few months.  We have some interviews with the biggest names in the genre and, of course, reviews galore.  We are losing our minds with excitement so stay tuned.

In the meantime, lets take a look at what we weer up to last week.

Meli continued her in depth look at one of the classic genre titles as she explores every bloody bit of King’s It.  This is one of our favorite features and if you haven’t been following along, what are you waiting for?

Meli stayed with the heavy hitters and gave us a frightening review of Laymon’s Night Show.  She had this to say, “This book is more toned down in graphic content compared to his other works, but the story definitely doesn’t suffer for it. Even though he is more frugal with the blood and guts it doesn’t make the chills and thrills any less jarring.”  Check it out!

Pat raved about one of the best collaborations this genre has ever seen as he took a look at Hero.  This is Wrath James White and JF Gonzalez at their finest.

Finally, we pointed you to some of the best free fiction the internet has to offer.  There were a ton of free stories here, and two from Jeff Strand here and here.  Free is good!

About Pat Dreadful

Father of three. Impregnator of one. Pat lives in the backwoods of Pennsylvania where he splits his time between moonshining and moonlighting. He used to be the sole proprietor of a funky little site called Grade Z Horror but jumped at the chance to work with Meli and Colum. He was raised on King and Crichton but quickly found true salvation in the works of Ketchum and Laymon. When not selling plasma to afford those highly sought after Jeff Strand limited editions, Pat can be found sitting on his back porch with a pipe full of Perique and the sounds of summer coming through a beat up transistor radio. Simply put, he is a true ramblin’ boy of pleasure. The books that have shaped Pat’s warped lil’ ol’ mind have included Dweller by Jeff Strand, It by Stephen King, Boy’s Life by Robert McCammon, The Traveling Vampire Show by Richard Laymon and The Girl Next Door by Jack Ketchum. Pat is always on the lookout for a good coming-of-age yarn so shoot your suggestions to PatDreadful@gmail.com You can also follow his unsavory exploits over at theblackwoodsbible.wordpress.com
